Our Mission
Global Textile Crisis
The global textile industry faces a significant waste challenge, compounded by the rapid consumption and disposal patterns of contemporary fashion. Annually, the industry produces millions of tonnes of textile waste, a considerable amount of which ends up in landfills or incinerators, exacerbating environmental pollution and resource depletion. With over 92 million tonnes of waste generated each year, there is a critical and urgent need for effective sustainable management strategies. Although there is increasing awareness and numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability, the industry still struggles with a lack of comprehensive recycling infrastructure and the complexity of recycling material blends. This is precisely the gap that SevenC's Recycling aims to bridge, offering innovative solutions for effective waste reduction and resource recovery.

Our Why

Our mission is deeply intertwined with Australia's national and regional sustainability goals. Australia aims to transition to a circular economy by 2030, a vision that calls for a transformative approach to waste management and resource recovery. Specifically, in the Perth and Peel region, a targeted effort is to divert 85% of current waste away from landfills, channelling it into more sustainable streams.

Our operations at SevenC's Recycling are aligned with the WA waste strategy objectives, prioritising reuse, reprocessing, and recycling of materials over less sustainable methods like energy recovery (burning trash for energy) or landfill disposal. By focusing on turning polyester waste into valuable recycled products, we support Western Australia’s waste management strategy and contribute to a broader, global movement towards a more sustainable world.
Our commitment to reprocessing and recycling is foundational to our operations and reflects our dedication to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

If you have questions about how we can help your business transition to more circular practices, or if you're wondering whether we can recycle your products, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to assist and guide you towards achieving your sustainability goals.
Polyester Redefined: Embracing
Textile-to-Textile Recycling
In the quest for sustainability, recycled polyester has emerged as a significant alternative to virgin PET. Traditionally, recycled polyester is produced from plastic bottles, which is better than using virgin PET as it repurposes plastic waste and reduces new plastic production.
However, while converting plastic bottles into recycled polyester is a step in the right direction, it’s not the ultimate solution. Diverting plastic bottles from their recycling loop to make textiles often leads to those textiles ending up in landfills.
Textile-to-Textile Recycling:
A Sustainable Game-Changer
Textile-to-textile recycling offers a more sustainable solution by closing the loop within the textile industry itself by:
1. Reducing Landfill Waste: This method transforms post-consumer textiles into new polyester fibres, significantly reducing textile waste in landfills.

2. Conserving Resources: Recycling textiles directly conserves resources and energy, reducing the reliance on plastic bottles and allowing them to stay within their own recycling system.

3. Promoting a Circular Economy: This approach keeps materials within the textile industry, extending the life of polyester fibres and promoting continuous repurposing.

4. Lower Environmental Impact: Textile-to-textile recycling reduces the need for new raw materials, decreases greenhouse gas emissions, and minimises water and energy consumption.
